Catania is set
on a large gulf, to the south of which there are 18 kilometres
of golden sandy shore stretching beyond the oasi del Simeto
Nature Reserve to Agnone, at the borders of the city of Lentini.

The Playa of
Catania has got three public beaches where you can use your
beach equipment. The first beach is situated just past the
harbour. From here the bathing establishments, “i Lidi” open up,
offering entertainment to all different ages and tastes. In
these resort you have umbrellas and chairs for rent, changing
facilities, refreshments area, volleyball courts and any sort of
facility you need to spend a whole day at the beach. At night
time many establishments turn into Aperitif Bar, Disco Bar and
outdoor nightclub areas. Along the coast road there are some
seaside camps, such as the Colonia Don Bosco, and some
three-star to five-star hotels, too.
