The Toy’s museum
exhibits a great variety of antique toys, belonging to the
period between the end of the XIX century and the first half of
the XX century. This museum is situated in the great halls of
Palazzo Bruca (XVIII century), that belonged to the Prince
Scammacca della Bruca. The Palace has a magnificent courtyard in
its interior, with a neo-classic fountain that represents
Neptune. The entrance to the museum is through a gallery with
Ionic columns. Hundred of toys furnish evidence for the pastimes
and games of children in the old days and they are kept in
elegant cases. The museum has some halls devoted to laboratories
for children, where it is possible to assist to some shows and
games. A library, a bookshop and a café, where it is possible to
meet each other, are some of the museum’s offers. In the
bookshop you can buy games, books, gadgets for adults and
children. Library and café are open only on Saturday and Sunday.
